Du Quoin Egyptian Music Camp Still Leads After 32 Years
The Egyptian Music Camp at Du Quoin, led by A T Wood, remains the nation’s oldest non affiliated camp under one director. Around 300 students from six states attend the single extended session with strict discipline and a long standing faculty including Marvin Dohlmeyer and Paul Yoder. The camp features daily music courses, a large concert band, chorus, dance band and an 18 piano ensemble supported by a $55 tuition with meals lodging and lessons.
