Babashoff Sets Three American Records at Olympic Trials
Shirley Babashoff, 19, Mission Viejo, California, shattered three American marks at the U S Olympic trials in Long Beach. She lowered the 800 meter freestyle to 8 46 51 and earlier bettered records in the 200 and 400 free and won the 400 individual medley.
