Dismissal of Court Charges Involving Carbondale Landlord
A Carbondale landlord Paul Parrish and the former Coalition Against Landlord Abuse had charges dismissed after not going to trial within 160 days. Parrish’s aggravated assault charges were dropped and then CASA representative Robert Cartwright’s battery charges were dismissed by State's Attorney Ron Briggs. The judge, Circuit Judge Robert Schwartz, dismissed Parrish's case over timeliness and Cartwright’s charges followed.
