SIU Offers 20 Summer Noncredit Courses
Southern Illinois University divides summer offerings into 13 Carbondale Campus classes and seven at the Vocational Technical Institute Campus. Registration for Carbondale courses is Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Wham Building Room 112. VTI courses register Wednesday at 7 p.m. in VTI Room 6. County Moves Courthouse Plaque and Directory in Murphysboro
Jackson County will relocate the dedication bronze plaque and a wooden directory from the north entrance to the south wall of the main lobby in the Murphysboro courthouse. James Gillmore, chairman of the Board of Supervisors building committee, says the move places both items in a more prominent, central location as the north entrance becomes least used.

New Lake Scene For Tall Tree Class Reunion
Classmates from Tall Tree School in Johnson County hold a reunion near Buncombe today. An open house marks a new 60 acre lake and recreation area developed by A L Gould of Anna, with 40 acres now and 60 planned. The lake stocked with bass bluegill and will add channel catfish. fishing may be fee-based in a couple years. Ski boats rides offered during the reunion.
