Vineyard hosts grape stamping fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters

Stroud LeVault family volunteers stomp grapes at Owl Creek Vineyard to raise funds for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program serving Jackson and Perry counties. Vandalism costs SIUC over hundred thousand since 2002

SIUC figures from the department of public safety show more than 100000 dollars lost to vandalism since 2002. From 2002 to 2005 incidents ranged from 88 to 104 on campus and 94 to 138 on personal property with May and warmer weather tied to higher activity. Director Todd Sigler notes not all damage is criminal and distinguishes accidental or minor acts from intentful property crime.
