Chester eyes rezoning for 24 new rental units

Chester plans to rezone land on Union School Road to allow Forest Investment Co to build 24 middle income apartments. The move would convert the area from single family to multiple family or commercial use. If approved a public hearing will be held. The city also won a $120,000 EPA grant to rebuild a river lift station and stabilized sewer rates. The council considered computerizing payrolls and records.
