Retriever rescues after cliff fall ends with vet visit stumble
A 90 pound black lab retriever named Schnaps fell 60 feet to a cliff ledge along the Hudson after tumbling from a Palisades rest stop. Rescued after four hours on the ledge, he was examined by Dr Libby Neswold and found in good health aside from bruises, then fell off the examination table during a vet visit. Owner John Kinkopf had unleashed him for a Saturday romp and watched as Schnaps disappeared over the edge.
