Union County Cobden Museum To Open With Local Relic Displays
Union County Museum in Cobden, a private group led by C. Joan Thomas and members Charles and Donard Baggott, plans a summer opening to showcase Indian relics collected since before 1925. Led by Charles Henderson and Edward Basler, the project includes cedar lamps and artifacts from Polk County hunts and nearby bluffs. The museum, begun in 1930, will sell handicrafts, host donation boxes, and seek loans from residents to build a broader historic collection for schools and the region.
