Man Caught After Chase Fined $100
Paul Palmer of Carbondale pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct before Justice Pat Ballard in Herrin. He was fined $100 plus $10.30 costs, paid part of the fine and was to finish payment Saturday before release. Palmer was arrested after Dean McMurray identified him following a chase from a bedroom window peeping incident.

Inquests Set In Randolph In Randolph
Randolph County coroner Roy Meyer announced two inquests. Harry Obshadkin, 38, an Illinois Security Hospital inmate, was found hanged in his cell on May 28 at 1:30 a.m. No cellmate was reported. The inquest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Security Hospital. Percy Leibrock, 78, of Red Bud, died after being struck by a car on June 2 at a Red Bud intersection. Earl Linnertz, 27, of Red Bud, driving the vehicle, was questioned but not charged.
