Prison director Sielaff to head Wisconsin state prison system
Allyn Sielaff, 44, director of Illinois Corrections, resigns to lead Wisconsin state prisons with a $3,000 annual pay. He cites personal and political reasons and notes his good relation with Gov. Walker amid a changing administration after a primary defeat. Joliet officers report Will County carpenters avert a strike with a three year contract raising wages 17 percent in steps totaling $2.03 per hour over three years. The pact covers 3,090 carpenters across 227 contracting firms, retroactive to June 1. Governor Walker signs bill giving state subsidy authority to support certain passenger rail lines in Illinois as he recovers from surgery.
