Arrested businessman just farm boy
F. Jay Crawford, 38, an International Harvester service manager in Moscow, was arrested by Soviet police on currency violation charges. Described as a vigorous, farm boy type, he drew laughs and speculation he may have been used as an example amid tensions with two Soviet U N employees on trial in New Jersey. Consular officials met him but offered no condition details. He and his fiancee were en route to a diplomatic party.
