Magnetic Filing System Device Causes Card Index to Fan Out
Ernest Dahl, an office equipment maker, introduces a magnetic card index that sweeps 18 to 20 cards at a glance. The system speeds filing by about 35 percent, with cards fanning out as alphabetical sections are opened. Dahl holds Western Hemisphere patent rights and demonstrates a magnetized, aluminum base card set that repels neighboring cards to separate them.
