Southern Illinois towns share May motor fuel tax
Thirteen municipalities in Southern Illinois received a total of 26 317 dollars from motor fuel tax receipts for May, up from 24 810 dollars in April. Statewide receipts reached 1 514 638 dollars for May, said George W. Mitchell, director of the State department of finance. Towns listed include Mount Vernon 3 569, West Frankfort 2 810, Cairo 2 809, and Harrisburg 2 437.
