Sesser residents threaten to hold up water bill payments
About 150 residents gathered near the bandshell in Sesser to protest a new sewer rate schedule that raised monthly bills from 2 to 8.86 dollars. They formed a seven member steering committee led by Sam Dittmer to press the city council for a scaled down rate plan within 60 days while considering partial or adjusted payments. The group plans to present proposals for a vote, with contributions raised to fund future meetings.
