Captive of Drug Firms Draws Senate Warning
Dr Dale Cansele former Medical Director of Br Squibb testified to the Senate Small Business Committee that a greedy drug industry has captured doctors and medical associations. He said firms spend millions to confuse physicians with propaganda and warned legitimate education is distorted by two page ads and free samples. He noted doctors receive biased information through journals and mailings, while patient care may be affected by profits.
