Reds Decline To Fight Case In California Trial
In Los Angeles 10 of 14 California Communist leaders facing conspiracy charges declined to contest the government case. Judge Mathes ruled enough evidence showed the party advocates violence to achieve its aims. The defendants issued a statement claiming innocence and noting no evidence beyond Communist party membership. Names listed include Connelly, Dorothy, Fox, Lambert, Dobbs, Steinberg, Lima, Kusnitz, Richmond, and Spector. The remaining four are Schneiderman, Yates, Stack, and Carlson.
