Hunting Safer Than Boating in Illinois Warns Report
Wildlife data from the Illinois Department of Conservation show 115 boating accidents in 1974 with 62 injuries 52 drownings and four other water deaths while hunting had 23 accidents including three fatalities. The report also notes river and lake rockfish records and revised largemouth bass size limits at Baldwin Lake with a 14 inch minimum and 10 horsepower motor limit.
