Work study funds approved at Southern Illinois University
SIU has received a supplemental federal work-study grant of 39596 to support the program July to December, adding to the earlier 156900 grant. Frank Adams notes the original funds would employ 650-700 students on the Carbondale campus and the supplement allows about 250 more over six months. Adams says 20 to 25 percent of SIU work-study students are federally funded, with the rest paid from state funds. A supplemental grant of 56397 was also awarded for the Edwardsville campus.
