Stolen Bandit Car Found After Nightclub Looting Near Du Quoin
Four gunmen robbed patrons at the Evening Star nightclub near Du Quoin around 12 45 a m and fled in a gray 1940 Buick owned by Earl Walker of Herrin. The car was located late yesterday on a road between Elkville and Royalton. The gang used shotguns pistols and a sub machine gun in the heist which netted an estimated 10 000 to 20 000. The unmasked leader was described as red faced and chunkily built, wearing a black straw hat and white shirt.
