Duck-stamp prints rise in value for artists collectors
Federal duck-stamp prints have surged in value with 1972 and 1971 issues selling for $4500 and $4000 respectively. Illinois and Iowa state prints also show gains, while 1980 federal mallard stamp by Richard Plasschaert attracts over 50 advance orders. Dealers note limited editions and destroyed plates ensure ongoing scarcity and high prices.

Spruce Creek Pennsylvania. AP. Bob Bachman a 46 year old Penn State ecology doctoral candidate camps by the stream to study wild brown trout. He uses binoculars camera and recorder to document trout behavior and locations learned after 1500 hours of field work. Bachman aims to inform conservation and future trout management. He debunks myths about feeding and spot selection noting trout feed 300 times hourly in shallow water and defend personal fishing territories. He plans to report findings in his doctoral thesis and hopes to influence stream building.
