Senior Citizens in Murphysboro will miss the Monday afternoon gathering next week. A 6:30 business meeting and a 7:30 p.m. dance are planned at the Recreation Center on 104 North 14th Street, with Blue Country Boys providing music. Regular Monday activities include 1:30 to 3 p.m. social hour and 3 to 4 p.m. Kitchen Band practice, plus Wednesday quilting 1:30 to 3 p.m. and an hour of band practice afterward.

The Rev R David Reynolds 25 of Marion has been named pastor of Marissa United Methodist Church He earned a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary Wilmore Kentucky May 20 and will start June 17 He is a 1966 Marion High School graduate attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale and earned a BA from Asbury College in 1970 He was ordained a Deacon in June 1971 and served as assistant minister at Trinity Methodist Church Sutton Surrey England in 1971
