Eden urged to accept union plan amid rail strike

The plan, approved by the Associated Society of Engineers and Firemen, requires talks without a return to work. Meanwhile 20,000 dock workers strike disrupt 200 freighters across seven ports and a wildcat 800-strong steward walkout stranded 3,300 passengers in Liverpool and Southampton.
