Fireman’s dismissal stands after state Supreme Court decline
The state Supreme Court declined to hear the Benton fireman case of Oert Smith, clearing the way for his return to work. Smith informed city officials of the decision, with the appellate ruling favoring reinstatement standing. The fire commission may still oppose his rehiring, but two commission members reportedly favor it.
