Dan Edwards of Murphysboro breaks a 53 year old mile record at Knox College with a 4 24 6 time eclipsing the 4 25 3 mark set in 1925. He also runs a 1 58 half mile and is voted most valuable member of the track team. He is a Knox freshman noted for basketball letters and is the first Cliff Stein Memorial Scholarship recipient.
