Benton Country Club and Its Challenging 9 Hole Course
The Benton Country Club operates a private 9 hole course and swimming pool on Rt. 14 near Lake Moses with Zeke Carello as the resident pro. The club hosts the Benton Gold Cup and the Southern Illinois Golf Association Tournament on June 18 19. The course features several long holes with trees, out of bounds by Rt. 14, and Lake Moses along the right side. The greens are large and contoured with demanding approaches and several hazards including sand traps and heavy tree lines.
