Man Killed by Rolling Freight Car In St Louis Transit Area
Harry Raines aged 38, a rail road inspector, moved from Murphysboro to East St. Louis five years ago. He was struck by a rolling freight car at the foot of Arsenal street and died instantly while inspecting cars. The coroner scheduled an inquest for Monday at 9:30 a.m. Funeral rites will be held in East St. Louis and Murphysboro with Masonic services and religious ceremonies led by Rev. Marion Farmer and Rev. H. Rafael. He leaves a wife Helen Berkleigier and three children, plus two brothers, a sister, and his mother. He belonged to Gothic Lodge A F and A M, Shriners bodies, and the F O E.
