Cobden Memorial Day Honors Veterans with Park Monument

Cobden celebrated Memorial Day with a veterans memorial dedication funded entirely by private donations. The Cobden Veterans Memorial Association organized four stone pillars bearing local veterans' names, as mayor Elvis Pearson praised the rapid completion and Cheri Sanders Beegle called the monument a symbol beyond names. The town also honored its two oldest living veterans, Ernest Gibbons and Lawrence Cerny, both WWII veterans, during the ceremony.
