Humphrey Leads Ford Toward Democratic Nomination in New Poll
In the latest survey Humphrey holds a 22 to 19 lead over Carter among Democrats and independents likely to vote. Brown rises to 15 and Kennedy 13 with Udall at 9. Kennedy exits, Humphrey gains 24 to 23 for Carter, Brown 18, Udall 9, Wallace 7. Brown's rise from 3 to 18 percent marks a sixfold jump.
