Prison term reduced from life to six years for kidnapper
East St. Louis AP reports William Dean Atchison 28 had his life sentence reduced to six years with parole eligibility after a psychiatric report. He was convicted February 13 of kidnapping six year old Kimberly Gossett last July. found with the girl in Houston in September. His lawyer cited aid needs, and Atchison said he tried to save her from a poor home environment.
