July Weddings in Cobden and Noble Highlight Local Engagements
The Jacobsins announce the engagement of their daughter Michelle to David Allen Black with a July 21 wedding planned. Michelle, a Carbondale High School and SIU graduate, will wed Black, an East Leyden and SIUC alumnus, employed by Combine Insurance in Centralia. In Noble, Julia Lynn Costantino is engaged to Robert Ray Levitt. Julia, an Olney Central College graduate and upcoming dietetics major at Eastern Illinois, plans a July 7 ceremony at United Methodist Church in Noble. Levitt is a Kansas University alumnus employed by A.M.F. in Olney.

Guideline Increases for FHA Housing Loans in Southern Illinois
The FHA raises the maximum adjusted family income to 10700 in Jackson County, up from 9200, allowing more families to qualify for home loans. The adjusted income subtracts 5 percent of total income and 300 per dependent child, with examples given. Applications go to county FHA offices.

Barth wins $6000 Builders scholarship for architecture
