Eastern Cornbelt carcass prices weaken with regional ranges from 46.25 to 59.81 dollars per hundredweight across 0.5 to 0.9 inch backfat. Illinois Direct Hogs show steady to lightly traded demand, with 300-400 lb hogs at 16 to 18 dollars, rising to 19 dollars for 600+ lb, and boars 20 to 25 dollars under 300 lbs and 7 to 10 dollars over 300 lbs.
Dow Jones Industrial Average closes at 8019.26, down 390.23 points as major indexes slide. S&P 500 falls to 847.76, Nasdaq edges up to 1319.15 while NYSE and Wilshire totals show hefty daily shifts. Volume across exchanges reaches over 3.0 billion consolidated shares, with 766 issues higher, 2,469 lower, and 169 unchanged.
