Warden Fired Over Alleged Safety Failures at Menard prison
Two lawsuits accuse Menard Correctional Center warden Hinsley of neglect and staff sexual harassment risks. Plumlee led officers in orange ribbon protest stating Hinsley favors inmates over employee safety. Guards recall an incident in June with Hinsley seen doing pushups with an inmate in the yard.

Molina notes no cookie cutter response to fights and that assaults in IDOC facilities are reported to the central office. He praises staff and leadership yet acknowledges incidents can occur.

Rice named associate provost at SIU Carbondale
Don Rice, currently associate dean for budget personnel and research, will become associate provost for academic administration at Southern Illinois University Carbondale starting Aug 1. The appointment, pending SIU board approval, replaces James Staub who left in 2003.
