Horseradish crop gains ground in Maryland farmers
Maryland agriculture officials say horseradish offers strong profits for farmers, with about 30 growing it last year and potential to triple. Yields reach 6,000 to 8,000 pounds per acre on sandy loam, and roots can be replanted yearly. The Tulkoff Co in Baltimore buys much of the crop for sauces and mustards.
