Lawyer says officer justified in punching teen at Inglewood
Inglewood California AP lawyer John Barnett said the officer Jeremy Morse was justified not restrained after slamming a handcuffed 16 year old Donovan Jackson into a patrol car and punching him. He argued the videotape lacks context showing the teen’s prior actions. The officer remains on paid leave as investigations unfold while the suspect’s father and an arresting bystander face separate custody. The bystander Mitchell Crooks 27 was detained outside CNN in Hollywood. Crooks faces Placer County warrants for petty theft DUI and hit and run.
