Suspect tied to counterfeit $20 bills in Pinckneyville area

One man, Robert Allard, 25, of Pinckneyville, is jailed on a forgery charge after counterfeit $20 notes surfaced at Carns Pizza and other local businesses. Perry County authorities, with Murphysboro investigators, say more bills may be involved and urge vigilance. Allard was arrested Saturday after a delivery driver reported fake currency. a detector pen confirmed the fakes. Investigators continue examining possible ties to additional incidents in the region.
