Carbondale Man Appears on Jeopardy! After Recruitment Trip

Carbondale resident Martin traveled to Paducah in April 2002 to join a Jeopardy! contestant search then returned for a second day of testing. He earned a spot in the contestant pool, flew to Los Angeles in March, and taped five episodes at Sony Pictures in Culver City. His episode airs 5 p.m. Saturday on WPSD Channel 6.

Mediacom worker injured after pole snaps in Carbondale

A Mediacom worker fell six to eight feet from a ladder when the base of the pole snapped in an alley on East Park Street. He was treated for a sore shoulder and released from Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. No power outages or service interruptions occurred. The pole was to be replaced that night.
