Man ends standoff by fatally shooting self
An Eldorado man, Roger Ashby, died after shooting himself during a police standoff at 30 Doc Road outside Eldorado. 911 callers reported he had shot at Michele Ashby, who fled to a neighbor, as deputies and state police surrounded the residence. Police negotiators, a sharpshooter and the Tactical Response Team failed to coax him out. a muffled shot was heard at 3:27 a.m. and the suspect was found dead at 5:45 a.m. The investigation continues by Saline County authorities and state police.
