Federal grand jury begins hearing in district turmoil
A federal grand jury began hearings amid a year of district upheaval. The district fired general manager Kevin Davis and admin secretary Nancee Paul on April 28 2003 after an internal audit alleged misappropriation of over 500000 and mismanagement. Paul was not accused of wrongdoing. The board appointed Gary May as interim GM, then declined to renew May’s contract. Glenn Poshard was named interim GM through December 31 with no pay. A state audit approved by the General Assembly will review all district finances, cost over 100000, with auditor general William Holland to run the audit as hearings continue.
