Ex-cop Gaddis convicted in First Southern Bank heist
Former Carbondale officer James D. Gaddis was found guilty of armed robbery at the Jackson County Courthouse. A jury took about three hours to decide, and Gaddis faces 21 to 45 years in prison after using a Glock .40 during the Oct. 9, 2009 First Southern Bank robbery in west Carbondale. $22,800 was stolen and his bond was revoked as he awaits sentencing Aug. 26.
