The guidance advises keeping a child home for any condition that interferes with participation or risks others. Do not stay home for mild sniffles or fatigue alone. Stay home for fever 100F or higher with possible infection, persistent vomiting or diarrhea, undiagnosed rashes with fever or behavior change, pinkeye with discharge, strep throat, head lice, or chickenpox with blister onset and scabbing.
