Pomona History Exhibit Opens at Murphysboro Library
Pomona Preservation hosts an exhibit of historic Pomona photos at Sallie Logan Public Library on Walnut Street in Murphysboro. An opening program runs 7 to 8 30 p m with speakers Mike Batinski and Jan Roddy of SIUC. Refreshments served and attendees may share memories. Program booklets with Pomona stories will be distributed.

Two Vehicle Crash Sends Two To Local Hospitals
A Friday afternoon collision on South Park Avenue near the Shell gas station left two area residents with minor injuries. Joshua Jones, 21, of Carterville, northbound in a 1987 GMC van, turned into the path of Donnie Haas, 78, of Energy, southbound in a 1995 Cadillac. The crash occurred at 2 37 p.m. and was reported by Herrin Police.
