Dynasty spoofed in low-grade oil melodrama on ABC TV
New York Times critic Tom Buckley trashs Dynasty as unbelievable and a crude Dallas knockoff. The three hour premiere depicts a ruthless oil baron, his wife Linda Evans, and feuding offspring with melodramatic plots and improbably staged Denver settings.

Critique of a TV series by Richard and Esther Shapiro
The piece critiques one take production, weak direction, and unconvincing fight scenes. Forsythe is described as a stylish yet hollow figure, Evans as earnest, and Pamela Sue Martin as the daughter seeking power. Al Corley’s son character is idle while clashing with paternal oil interests and politics.
