A weekend crash at the Jackson and Washington streets intersection left both cars with heavy damage. Police say Jason Reid 20 of Du Quoin pulled into the path of Cristy Simmons 33 also of Du Quoin. Andy Benes, former MLB pitcher, headlines the Baseball Card and Sports Memorabilia Show at John A. Logan College in Carterville from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. The event runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features Midwest vendors. Benes, 35, faced a roller coaster 2002 season with a late break, has knee arthritis, and aims to spend time with his four children.
