Washington February 22 AP Lyndon B Johnson said the Senate will press ahead with civil rights debate and decide later whether to interrupt to pass money bills. He favored passing a civil rights bill now and delaying appropriations until ready. Dirksen urged moving toward passage of a Senate bill while House action looms after March 10. Johnson noted the desire to thoroughly debate each proposition. The Senate, meeting despite Washington's Birthday, enters its second week of civil rights talks aimed at Negro voting rights. Waiting for the House could force Senate to consider a House style measure, which advocates say would be partial.

Seven Children Die In Oberlin Fire

Seven children perished in a Sunday night blaze that ripped through the rear bedrooms of a one story frame home in Oberlin Ohio. Fire officials said oil from a faulty heater fed the flames. Two four year old boys and three adults escaped uninjured: Lucille Isom and Mary Malone sisters aged 24 and 20 were with their mother Sylvia Malone in the front part of the seven room house.
