Granite City Feb 21 AP two persons died and two others critically injured in a late night collision involving two cars and a truck near Granite City. Deceased are William C. Anderson 73 and Mrs Cora Henley 73 both of Granite City. Critically injured are Andersons wife Della 68 and Mrs Jennie Wilson 72. The truck driver Donald L Lester Houston Texas said he stopped for a traffic sign at the intersection of U S Highway 40 and State Highway 157 when the Anderson car struck his truck.

Seven Die in Michigan Nursing Home Fire
A convalescent home fire in Hartford Michigan killed seven patients overnight, including four women and three men aged 66 to 93. Police and fire crews found the bodies in a two story frame building three miles west of Hartford. five victims were bedridden and plan to move residents to hospital was incomplete. The home had operated by Mr and Mrs Clark Shimer for two years and the blaze began in a glassed in front porch.
