Springfield February 20 AP Eleven proposals to amend the Illinois constitution have been filed as the General Assembly begins its six months session. Priority aims include a four year term for state treasurers court system revisions and redistricting. The Illinois Bar seeks judgeships by appointment.
The forecast calls for much colder conditions in Southern Illinois tonight into Saturday with cloudy skies tonight and partly cloudy skies Saturday. Lows drop to 20 to 25, highs 28 to 34. Temperature readings show 39 yesterday, 55 at 7 am today, 52 at 6 pm yesterday, with a high of 54 yesterday and 59 by noon today. Precipitation totals 0.16 inches from yesterday morning through today 7 am. Sun rises 6 44 am and sets 5 42 pm. Crab Orchard Lake 19 inches below spillway today. Cumberland, Md. AP reports a dog owner, David T. Tharp, sues mailman John J Clark for 5000 dollars in circuit court. Tharp alleges Clark viciously and wantonly stamped his chihuahua to death and boasted he would kill all dogs and cats he found.
