U S personal income climbs 1 percent in January to an annual rate of 1 313 8 billion, driven by services and distributive payrolls. Government payrolls rise 0 8 billion, farm income falls for second straight month, total farm income declines to 36 9 billion, signaling strength in consumer spending.
President Ford issued orders barring the CIA and other agencies from spying on domestic activities of most Americans and groups.
