Springfield February 14 AP A Federal Court jury convicts Robert L Knetzer of concealing cash from his bankruptcy trustee in a failed Edwardsville car business. Jury clears counts on bonds and stocks, sentencing not set.

Arlington detectives say a 42-year-old housewife Viola Opanowich confessed to throwing her week old son alive into a home furnace on Feb 5. Her husband Peter Opanowich, 55, is charged as an accessory before the fact. Julius Sherr, 40, Washington, D. C., witnessed the case and was released on bond.

Senator Smith offers to discuss partially lifting secrecy of Dulles testimony, while Morse criticizes calls for a political honeymoon with the administration. A 28 year old man and 17 year old wife were detained in Columbus after offering to sell their month old son Ricco Thomas Jr for ten dollars and an ice wagon pension. The mother said she sought a home for the child and denied any plan to sell him. The father was charged with contributing to the neglect of a minor.
A straw hut village near Saigon's commercial port was swept by a blaze destroying about 5,000 homes. Early reports cited four dead and 100 seriously burned. The fire left some 20,000 people homeless in Indochina on February 14.
