Man barricades with dead father dies. self subdues in Illinois home
A 49 year old Jefferson County man Raymond Hicks barricaded himself with his dead father George Hicks 84 in a Lesser area home four miles northwest of Lesser. Authorities used tear gas to force him out. Hicks injured Deputy Lappin with a hammer and was shot in the foot. The father died of natural causes and the son was committed to Anna State Hospital.

Eight Die as Train Hits Bus Near Sudbury Ont
Eight men en route to work perish when a Canadian Pacific passenger train collides with a bus at a level crossing seven miles east of Sudbury. Frozen Woman Survives Severe Hypothermia in Chicago
