Davis files intent to dissolve Carbondale bus lines
William T. Davis acting for Carbondale City Lines files a statement of dissolution with Secretary Edward J. Barrett. Phillip Kimmel, president of the bus line and owner of Carbondale Yellow Cab Co., began service in 1946 with five buses but never ran more than two at once. After ICC approval to abandon in June 1951 and estimated losses of 15 000 to 20 000, he attributed quits to rising costs and fare hikes. He said state highway police pressured dissolution earlier when new licenses could not be secured.
